Dive into the Word of God

Like the Bereans, we love to “examine the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11). We have a personal responsibility to not just hear and blindly believe, but to see for ourselves in the Word.

You might just see the Bible in a way you’ve never seen it before.

Here’s an appetizer, from Genesis to Revelation.

Genesis 2:18
And Jehovah God said, It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper as his counterpart.

Why did God say this? God wanted the only living organism created in His image to have a helper. Why?

Genesis 2:24
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Before sin and Satan, there is a couple.

Deuteronomy 6:5
And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

This is the first commandment mentioned before any others. Why?

Psalm 2:12
Kiss the Son / Lest He be angry and you perish from the way; / For His anger may suddenly be kindled. / Blessed are all those who take refuge in Him.

In no other religion are we told to kiss the God whom we worship. Kiss the Son.

Isaiah 54:5
For your Maker is your Husband; / Jehovah of hosts is His name. / And the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; / He is called the God of all the earth.

Once the God who created mankind in Genesis, now your Husband. How can the Bible say this? Surely I am a sinner, a creature made by God but fallen from grace? How can a creature marry the Creator?

Hosea 2:16
And in that day, declares Jehovah, / You will call Me My Husband / And will no longer call Me Baali.

On which day shall I call God My Husband?

John 3:29
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom’s voice. This joy of mine therefore is made full.

Who is the bride and who is the bridegroom here?

Ephesians 5:31-32
For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak with regard to Christ and the church.

Spoken first in Genesis 2, now Paul is speaking about Christ and the church. How did we get here?

Revelation 19:7
Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.

At the end of the Bible, in the last book, there is a wedding feast, and the wife has made herself ready.

Revelation 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who is thirsty come; let him who wills take the water of life freely.

No longer Adam and Eve in Genesis, we have the Spirit and the bride in Revelation.

We can only do so much online. But when we dive, we mean dive.

Come, let’s dive into the truth.

” But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

2. Timothy 2:22
